Justin Park interview
Justin Park has been one of our favorite artists ever since BTS’ Jungkook put us on to his music back in 2021. Shortly after, he starred on the final season of Show Me the Money, which was one of the biggest music competition shows in Korea.
Earlier this week, we chatted with him about his career and what he likes to do in his free time. Let’s jump in and get to know Justin Park!
We'd love to start with an intro! Could you please introduce yourself?
Hello K-Snax community! I’m Justin Park, an R&B artist born and raised in Los Angeles. Over the years, my music has reached a global audience, with songs like “On the Low” and “Shady” amassing over 40 million listeners combined. I've been fortunate to spend more than a decade in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, and performer, traveling the world, connecting with incredible fans, and receiving recognition from renowned artists such as BTS' Jung Kook, Pink Sweats, Monsta X, and Stray Kids. It's been an amazing journey, and I'm excited to share more of it with you.
We loved watching you on Show Me the Money! What was it like filming the show?
Being a part of Show Me the Money was truly an unforgettable experience. My time in Korea and on the show was nothing short of amazing. It pushed my Korean language skills to the limit and took me far outside my comfort zone. Competing on a nationally televised rap show, standing alongside veteran contestants, was an intense challenge. But ultimately, it was an incredibly rewarding journey. I learned so much about myself and how I handle high-pressure situations. The show taught me to embrace challenges and reinforced the idea that the path of a visionary is filled with ever greater obstacles to overcome.
What's been the biggest highlight of 2024 for you so far?
2024 has been a year of incredible growth for me. Although I haven’t released new music in a while, I can assure you I’ve been hard at work. I’m excited to share that an amazing album is in the works, with a planned release at the start of 2025. Alongside my music, I’ve also nurtured another passion—launching my own EDM/Hip-Hop events company, Better With Friends. Our first two events exceeded expectations, drawing over 1,300 attendees and hitting full capacity both times. This year, I’ve really put my head down, learned a lot, and set my sights on achieving something truly massive.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love playing UFC 5 and FIFA with my best friends, and we’re always up for doing something extravagant and spontaneous because, after all, we only live once. I try to keep a smile on my face and stay positive, no matter the circumstances. In fact, I consider it a hobby of mine—being that goofy, upbeat energy that can brighten someone’s day. It’s honestly one of my favorite things to do.
What are your favorite Asian snacks?
My favorite Asian snacks right now have to be the Chinese Lays, Matcha Kit Kat, Poca chip, Buldak Ramen.
