Head In The Clouds has always been part of no na’s story.
Last year, the Indonesian group made their live debut at the Los Angeles festival, with Baila, Christy, Esther and Shaz performing together in public for the first time. This weekend, the group returns to the same festival, and they will perform their latest single, “honk!” for the first time.
Released a week before Head In The Clouds LA, “honk!” is our latest taste of no na’s upcoming debut album, island girl. The song reminds us of “Om Telolet Om,” the Indonesian phenomenon that grew out of kids asking passing bus drivers to sound their distinctive musical horns.
“Honk!” features the angkot horn, playful production, awesome vocals, and a catchy chorus. It’s easy to imagine fans shouting it out as soon as the beat drops.
That makes Head In The Clouds the perfect place for its live debut.
Head In The Clouds holds an important place in no na’s history. Three of the members first met through 88rising around Head In The Clouds Jakarta before Esther completed the lineup. Their first public performance as a group came at the Los Angeles festival in 2025.
A year later, they’re returning as a much different group.
Since releasing “Shoot” and “Superstitious”, no na has steadily broadened their sound with songs like “Work,” “Rollerblade,” “Falling in Love” and now “honk!” It’s been a lot of fun listening to their diverse releases, and we can’t wait to see how they translate to a festival stage.
Each member is supremely talented and brings a fun and unique background to no na. Esther competed on Indonesian Idol, Baila appeared on Indonesian Idol Junior, Christy competed at the International Dance Asia Competition (finishing as second runner-up,) and Shazfa performed with K-pop cover dance crews in Australia.
The group’s name comes from the Indonesian word nona, meaning “miss” or “young lady,” and their music regularly incorporates Indonesian culture while still feeling universal.
Head In The Clouds has always been a great platform for introducing Asian artists to a global audience. no na returning to the festival with brand-new music feels like an important moment as they prepare to release their debut album island girl on September 18. We can’t wait to see them play “honk!” and their other hits at Head in the Clouds on Saturday.
