ENHYPEN took over House of Blues San Diego on Friday night for DARK MOON BLOOD NIGHT, an invite-only event held during San Diego Comic-Con. The venue was packed with ENGENEs excited to see the group in a much smaller setting than the arenas they usually play.
The night opened with “Bite Me,” which drew one of the loudest crowd reactions of the evening. ENHYPEN followed it with “Karma,” “Brought the Heat Back,” “Moonstruck” and “CRIMINAL LOVE” before closing with “Drunk-Dazed.”
Between songs, radio host JoJo Wright moderated a relaxed conversation about Comic-Con, DARK MOON, the group’s fans and their next album.
Earlier that day, ENHYPEN appeared on a Comic-Con panel and visited the DARK MOON booth on the convention floor.
“We never thought we would be here at Comic-Con in person,” Jake said.
The most heartwarming part of the night came when Wright asked what the members enjoy most about being part of ENHYPEN.
“Seeing ENGENEs in person is very precious because we debuted during COVID,” Jake said. “This was impossible back then.”
When Wright asked whether hearing fans scream still felt surreal, Jake gave ENGENEs another reason to get loud.
“I think ENGENEs, we have the loudest fans,” he said.
The loose setting also gave ENHYPEN room to joke around. While talking about being recognized in public, the members said they are always happy to run into fans on the street, with one exception.
“We’re very happy to see you guys in the streets, unless you’re following us,” Jake joked.
ENHYPEN also got the crowd excited for their new album, which will be released on August 21. The group described it as the finale of their current story, although they said it will leave things open-ended.
Then came their biggest claim of the night.
“We are 100% confident this is the best album we’ve ever put out,” Jake said.
DARK MOON BLOOD NIGHT gave fans a little bit of everything: a great concert, plenty of member interactions and a closer look at how ENHYPEN’s music connects to the larger DARK MOON story.
But the night’s most memorable moment may have been its simplest. ENHYPEN debuted during COVID, when meeting fans in person was impossible. At DARK MOON BLOOD NIGHT, the group performed for a small room of ENGENEs and had time to talk, joke around and reflect on how much those face-to-face moments truly mean to them.
